Trilobite
Flexicalymene From Morocco
Ordovician
This early direct relative of modern shrimp, crabs and insects grew up to a foot long and was a denizen of the sea bottom. All that we know about him today is from his fossilized shells. Trilobites lived from the Cambrian (650 MYA) thru the Permian (250 MYA) and became extinct at the end of the Permian.
He’s called a trilobite because he has a three-lobed body. There’s a center lobe and left and right lobes. These are must-haves for fossil collectors so we include them in our fossil collections and also have trilobite collections at www.moleenaturestore.info.
